In Partisan Memory of Senator Wellstone

False charges by liberal pundits that Republicans "couldn't wait until the bodies were removed from the forest" were drowned out Tuesday night by the fiery partisan campaign ramblings at the "eulogy" for the late Senator Wellstone. The news websites weigh heavily with photos from the "memorial" that showcased the jubilant, laughing, high-fiving comradery of the campaigners, err, the mourners. Were those red, white, and blue balloons I saw behind Clinton, Gore, and Mondale in one picture?

There's no logical debate to counter the fact that Democrats are understatedly hypocritical. A sweat-stained Al Gore bellowed to a minority-dominated crowd last year: "The Republican Party knows that its agenda is WRONG for Black America!" What's your plan Al? To continually grease the social ladder with welfare dollars making it virtually impossible to climb? That's one example... send $1 and SASE for a box filled with telephone book-sized lists that document the rest. Hypocrisy is inherent in the Democratic leadership no less than water is inherently wet. Libs were wetting their beds over the question of whether Norm Coleman would have the AUDACITY to, God forbid, campaign while the Mondale camp was out there... uhh... campaigning.

Senator Wellstone was a rabid liberal politician- by his own admission. Being mislead in his ideology seemed to make him proud and there's nothing wrong with that. At least he had the guts to use the "L" word and admit to his his political leanings. It amazes me that so many liberal democrats are embarrassed of their political disposition. Regardless of whether or not they should be, an important lesson can be learned from Senator Wellstone. It's not a bad thing to take a stand, believe in it, and don't deny it... even if you're wrong.
