Clark's Two Faces Are Showing
by Frank Salvato
Over the years the honesty of politicians in general has come into question. Many instances have been uncovered when politicos have been doing and saying things they ought not be doing and saying. It didn’t help that Bill Clinton issued the “I didn’t have sex…” line to the American people as well as the “Can you define the word is’” statement. The former was the catalyst for his impeachment, although the liberals would have you believe otherwise. But the two faces of Wesley Clark eclipse this today. At first I thought he was just confused, and on certain levels I still do, but his two faces are starting to become more defined. (more)

I just sent what is below to CNN. I've only seen 23 seconds of coverage on the London protests and it was 7 minutes into headline news show at 4:07 ET

I turned on CNN to see some serious news—the protests against Bush in London. I have yet to see anything about it on CNN. Even now, in inside politics, Judy Woodruff is showing the same events I saw an hour ago, is your programming on some sort of continual loop?

How about some real news about an event that is having a global impact rather than spending the entire day on another salacious sex story. Bush makes decisions that are costing lives. Isn't that more important? Where is your professional judgement?!

Veneita and all:

Not only CNN, but MSNBC, CNBC are also just glutting their airwaves with Michael Jackson.

Very little on Bush and his trip, his Energy and Medicare bills and what people are saying, etc.

Again - I think it was just a little too coincidental that CA authorities chose right now to arrest Michael Jackson.

It would be helpful to go into the other networks and tell them "enough on the Michael Jackson story".

"Either Senator Miller has conveniently forgotten a frightening period of American history, or he is willfully demeaning all those African-Americans who were hung from trees throughout the period of racial segregation in the South," said Wade Henderson, the director of the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. In my recent newsletter, I called the MoveOn.org members, along with their most prominent unofficial spokesman, Al Gore, a bunch of “nutballs” who have so far experienced no adverse effect that can be attributed to the Patriot Act. I was brought to task on this issue by a friend:

Is it possible to be excessively concerned about assaults, or potential assaults, on civil liberties? Just because no MoveOn.org folks have suffered any particular violation of their liberties doesn’t mean they or anyone else shouldn’t be concerned if there is a danger of losing basic civil liberties. Is it a better thing to vigilantly guard America’s liberties or, instead, make light of those who do? More...

Another Blackhawk helicopter was downed in Iraq outside of Tikrit. While the number of coalition and US soldiers who have become victims of the War on Terror mounts, and regrettably so, we have to remember to look at the big picture before we demonstrate to the world that our resolve is made of cardboard rather than titanium. Without belittling the number of casualties in the conflict, a number that is sure to rise before we rid the world of terrorist threats, we need to remember to keep the issue in perspective. Howard Dean's Liberal Vision & The Confederate Flag
by Frank Salvato
The Democratic Party of today loves to take credit for all of the progress that the civil rights movement had to offer. They count John F. Kennedy and his brother Bobby among those who spearheaded the movement as well as Lyndon Johnson and his welfare initiatives. Seldom do they mention George Wallace and Lester Maddox, both of whom were Democratic Governors from the South, one from Georgia and one from Alabama. They seldom mention them because they were bumps in the road for the civil rights movement, big, bigoted, pointy-hat wearing bumps in the road. Wallace later “saw the light” but that was only after he survived an assassination attempt. Now Howard Dean wants to appeal to the “guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks." It will be interesting to see if the alphabet media jumps on Dean the way that they jumped on Trent Lott for a comment far less offensive or whether they will forget about it as quickly as they forgot that it was Abraham Lincoln, a Republican, who championed the initiative, albeit political in its nature, that freed the slaves all those years ago. FROM BOORTZ'S ROCK THE VOTE NOTES: AL SHARPTON IS CONCERNED ABOUT PEOPLE DYING SENSELESSLY

During the show today we'll go over the transcript of last night's "Rock the Vote" bit on CNN. It shouldn't be too hard to find absurdities and outrages. I do want to point out one thing that Al Sharpton said last night. I saw it on a CNN clip this morning during my regular time spent with Carol Costello. Al Sharpton was saying that he didn't want American troops dying "senselessly" in Iraq. Well, isn't that special? I want to know just when Al Sharpton developed this aversion to people dying senselessly. Did Sharpton start to decry senseless deaths before or after December 8, 1995 when four people were shot and seven people were burned to death in a fire set by a Sharpton lieutenant at Freddy's Fashion Mart in Harlem after a weeks-long Sharpton-led protest? Sharpton's dislike of senseless deaths must have been developed since then ... since he has never made such a statement about the seven people who died that day.

I also noticed that two candidates, Dennis Kucinich and Weasley Clark got the dark turtleneck memos. Howard Dean seemed to be the only one who got the no-coat and rolled-up sleeves memo, though John Kerry, who, by the way, served in Viet Nam, adopted the no-coat look when the debate got started.

(From boortz.com)

boortz.com: Nealz Nuze Today's Nuze
FROM NEAL BOORTZ - ON THE MEMO

An interesting little memo prepared by the Democratic staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee has surfaced in Washington. The memo shows that the Democrats intended to use the Intelligence Committee as a political tool in next year's presidential elections.

The memo suggests that Democrats should "prepare to launch an investigation when it becomes clear we have exhausted the opportunity to usefully collaborate with the majority. We can pull the trigger on an independent investigation of the administration's use of intelligence at any time -- but we can only do so once ... the best time would probably be next year."

Democrats, of course, are trying to downplay the importance of this memo. They are claiming that it was never adopted, it was prepared by a low-level staffer and is, therefore, of no importance. Yeah, right.

This memo clearly shows that the Democrats intended to go along with the committee hearings on intelligence until the time was right for them to step forth with their demands for an independent investigation. There was never any intention to work with the majority Republicans to find out the true story behind intelligence failures in the Middle East. Just wait until the time is right, then pull that trigger on an independent investigation. And why would next year probably be the best time? Because it's a presidential election year, of course.

Lesson: The Democrats intended to use the Senate Intelligence Committee as a 2004 campaign tool. Hopefully you aren't surprised.

WEAPON OF MINISCULE DESTRUCTION?

‘Something’ felled an M1A1 Abrams tank in Iraq – but what?
Mystery behind Aug. 28 incident puzzles Army officials

Shortly before dawn on Aug. 28, an M1A1 Abrams tank on routine patrol in Baghdad “was hit by something” that crippled the 69-ton behemoth.
Army officials still are puzzling over what that “something” was.

According to an unclassified Army report, the mystery projectile punched through the vehicle’s skirt and drilled a pencil-sized hole through the hull. The hole was so small that “my little finger will not go into it,” the report’s author noted.
